Did you use /usr/share/examples/cvsup/standard-supfile as a template?
It works for me.
Beware, AFAIK, at the moment you can't buildworld-upgrade from -stable
to -current due to certain incompatibilities, though this might have
been already fixed. If not, you'd better off installing one of the
snapshots of -current (*not* Nov-09).
