Subject: FreeBSD can't sync disks with ext2fs partition mounted.

Hi,
I've run into a problem. I'm running FreeBSD 2.2.2 and mounts a Linux
ext2fs partition to run Applixware. I get the following message when I run
'shutdown':

Syncing disks... <a lot of numbers> giving up

When FreeBSD reboots, it complains about the / and /usr partitions not
beeing unmounted properly and runs 'fsck'.

The ext2fs partition is mounted from /etc/fstab using the line:

/dev/wd0s3 /usr/linux ext2fs ro 0 0

The problem goes away if I unmount the ext2fs partion before shuting down.

Is this a known problem, and is there a cure for it?

With regards,
